It is a great pleasure to announce that the precious relics of the Buddha and the great Indian and Tibetan masters will be traveling to Gangtok in Sikkim from the 24th of November to December, 2013.
These relics are a powerful source of inspiration and blessings and have been traveling the world for many years. Wherever they go it seems that people become happier, calmer and inspired – even if they were quite skeptical beforehand.
Lama Zopa says of the relics:
These relics of the Buddha are manifestations of the Buddha himself. In the past, sentient beings had pure karma so they were able to see Buddha in the actual historical form of the Buddha. In these degenerate times, we are unable to see the Buddha in that aspect, to collect merit, make offerings and receive teachings directly, because of the degeneration and impurity of the mind. The only karma we have is to see the Buddha in the form of relics, so that is how the Buddha still guides us. Buddha manifests in the form of relics so that we can develop devotion, purify our negative karma and collect extensive merit, and in this way he brings us sentient beings to enlightenment.

I was skeptical going into it, but I’m a curious person and kept an open mind. I left there amazed. It’s hard to put into words, but the energy was very powerful. … My friend who was with me, and who doesn’t believe in anything, was blown away.

When I got home from seeing the relics I had a really odd feeling – that I wasn’t arriving home because my home was where I had just come from.

We have no words to express my gratitude to allow us to bring the relics to Puerto Vallarta. It was a once in a lifetime experience for many of us. People who never heard about The Buddha told us about feeling something they have never experienced before. They said this event gave them a new perspective for what they want for their lives.
