After many years of waiting the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa has arrived in New York, America. This is an incredible event for buddhism in America and one that thousands of Kagyu students have been looking forward to for many years.

His Holiness has quite a busy schedule planned and has so far visited Ground Zero and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Today, Saturday the 17th of May, the Gyalwang Karmapa gave his first teaching in the West. He spoke about patience, compassion and stated that he had never ever forgotten about the American people.

Karmapa visiting Tso Pema in India

It is with great pleasure that we can now announce that His Holiness the 17th Karmapa will be making his first visit to the United States of America.

This is an event that has been long awaited by all students of His Holiness. Here at Karmapa Australia Inc. we urge all buddhists in America to make some connection with the Karmapa on his first visit.
